Power generation, storage, and distribution are one of the primary challenges in Fortresscraft Evolved. An adequate and efficient power system is necessary to obtain and process resources, research new technologies, automate crafting, provide base defenses, and ultimately win the game.
Power Production[]
Machines in this category produce power by various means. Power will be transferred into any adjacent machines and/or power storage blocks that have unfilled power capacity.

Description |
---|---|---|
Pyrothermic Generator | This is the first power generator available. Burns coal to produce power. Power production can be increased through upgraded fuel. | |
Solar Panel | Generates power through sunlight only. Power generation rises and falls throughout the Fortresscraft Evolved day/night cycle. | |
Organic Solar Panel | Generates even more power through the sunlight but can also generate power through Novalight. | |
MK2 Solar Panel | Multi-block solar panel (has placement restrictions). | |
MK2 Organic Solar Panel | Multi-block organic solar panel (has placement restrictions). | |
Jet Turbine Generator Housing | A completed Jet Turbine generates a large amount of power using High Energy Composite Fuel. | |
Jet Turbine Generator Intake | Combine with Jet Turbine Housing above to create a Jet Turbine. | |
Geothermal Generator | Generates an extreme amount of power in the cold caverns, T4 power generator. |
Power Storage[]
Machines in this category provide a way to store power that you have generated. Generally speaking, the higher tier power storage blocks (PSBs) are superior in performance and capacity to the lower tiers, but require more resources to craft.

---|---|---|
Power Storage Block | This is the basic, low-storage power storage block. Holds 200 power. | |
Power Storage Block MK2 | Huge upgrade to the basic PSB with a capacity of 1,500 power. | |
Power Storage Block MK3 | Upgrade to the PSB MK2 with a capacity of 5,000 power. | |
Organic Power Storage | Has a capacity of 6500 power | |
Power Storage Block MK4 | 3x3x3 multi-block structure for massive power storage needs with a capacity of 270,000 power. | |
Power Storage Block MK5 | Power storage specifically designed to charge the OET. 5x9x5 multi-block structure able to store 4.5 million units of power. |
Power Transfer[]
The machines in this category send power from one place to another. Chains of Laser Energy Transmitters (LET's) can move power over long distances horizontally or vertically. They also create one-way power transfer when air-gapped. This is useful for keeping a turret powered by a local PSB when the main power trunk is drained. Induction Chargers greatly simplify the tasks of collecting power from multiple generators and distributing power to multiple machines. LETs will draw power from any attached PSB or induction charger on any face, including the face with the laser. This will cause problems if the LET is touching a destination PSB, since it will pull power from the PSB it is sending power to. To prevent this issue, place at least 1 space between an LET and a destination PSB.
Name | Icon | Description |
---|---|---|
Basic Laser Energy Transmitter | Very low power transmission rate. Useful in the early game to power non-upgraded ore extractors. | |
Laser Energy Transmitter MK1 | Basic early game power transmission. | |
Laser Energy Transmitter MK2 | Upgrade to the basic LET, transmitting 4 times as much power per second. | |
Laser Energy Transmitter MK3 | Transmits power 8 times faster than the MK2. | |
Induction Charger | Early game multi-block structure for easily transmitting/collecting power to/from multiple machines in a 5x5 block area. | |
Conduit | Equalizes Power between MK4 Batteries. |
Lenses[]
Lenses placed into the upgrade slot of an LET will increase that LET's power transmitted per second. Keep in mind that a series of LET's will each need their own lens to get any benefit. In the early game with low-powered LETs, it is recommended to use the crystal-based lenses (e.g. diamond, emerald, etc.) as it will give you a better boost. During the late-game, the organic lenses are recommend.
