There are four types of entities in the game: Friendly, passive, neutral, and hostile. 

Friendly[]

Friendly Entities include any entity that is beneficial to the player including the player themselves.

Player

Try not to end up dead on the floor like this fellow.

SpiderBot

Spiderbot

SpiderBot fighting to protect the CPH.

SpiderBot is your bodyguard who will fight the threat on the surface.

Your companion and backup power source.

Passive[]

Passive Entities will not attack the player.

Mynock
Mynock
Steals resources from conveyors.

HiveMind

Better hive mind
Produces Mynocks.

Drops useful material if killed.

Overmind
Overmind
Sends out waves of enemies. Main bosses to defeat.

Neutral[]

These mobs will not attack the player unless they are attacked, whether by player or turret.

Slime

No special traits. Good way to get early game organic materials.

CamoBot

Hides if the player is looking at it. Steals power from power storages.

Hostile[]

Hostile Entities will either directly attack the player, Central Processing Hub, or other machines. The hostile entities in the game represent the main enemy that the player has to worry about.

Wasps

Basic enemy that attacks CPH.

Starts appearing around 100 threat.

Heavies
Heavie
Medium enemy that attacks CPH. Starts appearing around 1,600 threat.
Bosses
Boss
Strongest enemy that attacks CPH. Starts appearing around 6,000 threat.
Tunnel Nuker

"Digs" its way to you, but leaves trails of soft resin and sometimes organic rock. Doesn't hurt the player directly.
Worm Boss
Worm
Deadly enemy that will spawn on top of soft resin. Has acid spit that will damage you. Causes near instant death on collision.
Lava Worm

Spawns on magma.
